okay, so its been a while...

sorry... i have been slacking really bad! but not much has been going on lately. i just do the same thing every day for the most part. i clean house, i play with charlie, i wait for trae to email and call; he is doing really good by the way, i take charlie to the dog park, hang out with nadia while we let our babies play, and come home and go to sleep and do it all over again the next day. exciting right? well not really. i am enjoying myself though... we miss trae like crazy but we are trying to have a good time. it is so cold up here now, it happened all of a sudden. it is definitely fall... its so pretty though. the leaves are changing and i am getting so excited for halloween. i love fall, it is my favorite season... i love the cold crisp air, the gorgeous trees, the pumpkins... everything about it! i promise that i will try my hardest to update from now on... even if its just a new cute pic of my prince =]

So I am missing Trae alot these past few days. I dont know what it is but some days are better than others, its wierd. And before he left I figured I would never want to go to our house and stay there alone but its the only place I really want to be right now. Its wierd how things work out. I am going back to Portland on Wednesday and I am so excited to see Charlie... I miss him so much.
Well we haven't really been doing too much these last couple of days. We went up to the canyon for a little picnic and we have done a ton of shopping it seems but mostly we have just been hanging out and playing with Kayla. She has changed alot since I have been here even though its only been two weeks. She actually focuses on your face and smiles now... she is so adorable. Here are some pics of our little picnic. We had Gondalfo's sandwiches... they were so yummy!

Support the Troops!!!

You stay up for 16 hours.
He stays up for days on end.

You take a warm shower to help you wake up.
He goes days or weeks without running water.

You complain of a "headache", and call in sick.
He gets shot at as others are hit, and keeps moving forward.

You put on your anti war/don't support the troops shirt, and go meet up with your friends.
He still fights for your right to wear that shirt.

You make sure you're cell phone is in your pocket.
He clutches the cross hanging on his chain next to his dog tags.

You talk trash about your "buddies" that aren't with you.
He knows he may not see some of his buddies again.

You walk down the beach, staring at all the pretty girls.
He patrols the streets, searching for insurgents and terrorists.

You complain about how hot it is.
He wears his heavy gear, not daring to take off his helmet to wipe his brow.

You go out to lunch, and complain because the restaurant got your order wrong.
He doesn't get to eat today.

Your maid makes your bed and washes your clothes.
He wears the same things for weeks, but makes sure his weapons are clean.

You go to the mall and get your hair redone.
He doesn't have time to brush his teeth today.

You're angry because your class ran 5 minutes over.
He's told he will be held over an extra 2 months.

You call your girlfriend and set a date for tonight.
He waits for the mail to see if there is a letter from home.

You hug and kiss your girlfriend, like you do everyday.
He holds his letter close and smells his love's perfume.

You roll your eyes as a baby cries.
He gets a letter with pictures of his new child, and wonders if they'll ever meet.

You criticize your government, and say that war never solves anything.
He sees the innocent tortured and killed by their own people and remembers why he is fighting.

You hear the jokes about the war, and make fun of men like him.
He hears the gunfire, bombs and screams of the wounded.

You see only what the media wants you to see.
He sees the broken bodies lying around him.

You are asked to go to the store by your parents. You don't.
He does exactly what he is told even if it puts his life in danger.

You stay at home and watch TV.
He takes whatever time he is given to call, write home, sleep, and eat.

You crawl into your soft bed, with down pillows, and get comfortable.
He tries to sleep but gets woken by mortars and helicopters all night long.

Missing my husband...

It's not just about loving a man who wears a uniform. Its the dedication that it takes, the strength you have to have to make it through the times when you are apart. Its the support you have to be able to offer him. Its the love you give that helps him make it through the hardest times. Its the way many months apart can become relatively a short period of time, and yet five mintues together can last an eternity. Its the way one phone call can be enough to make you smile for weeks on end. Its that special feeling of pride you have in your man and in your country.

wow... its been a while!

Sorry it has been so long, I have been kinda busy. Trae left on August 16th for Qatar and he wont be coming back until the first week of December... its been pretty hard lately. I miss him so much, i cant even begin to explain how I feel. Its hard not knowing where he is or what he is doing all the time. He is 10 hours ahead of us so when we are sleeping he is awake and while were awake he is asleep... it stinks!! It is really hot over there too, the highest it has gotten is 140 degrees, tell me thats not crazy! I have no idea how he handles that kind of heat. He says half the time he doesnt even go to eat dinner just because it is too hot outside to walk to the galley!! But luckily his bedroom is air conditioned and so are the rest of the buildings. I talk to him a couple times a week and he seems to be doing good, as good as he can be I guess... He really misses home though. I am actually in Utah right now visiting my sister and my new niece and that is helping time go by a little faster, but i have to admit that I am getting quite homesick myself. I really miss my puppy Charlie too. My sister is watching him for me and makes fun of me for missing him so much but he is just mine and Traes baby... I know it sounds funny but we absolutely love and adore him. He is definitely the most spoiled dog ever but we are okay with that :) Well i am going to try and write a little every day so that when Trae gets home he will be able to see what I was up to and so that everyone else can know how he is doing... here are a few pics... I miss my boys!

Paint + Wood + Messy = Really FUN!!!

So much fun! I did these today to hang on the wall in our kitchen above Charlie's little area... and so we can hang his leash up somewhere. It was so fun doing this, I never imagined that painting would be so fun. I am going to do way more of it soon... love it! What do you think?

Fun at the lake...

We went to the lake today to go swimming, it was such a beautiful day and we had alot of fun! The pics didn't turn out too well though cus it was so bright, but this was my favorite. enjoy!

Here are some cute pics of Charlie and some pics of Tony and Chase doing crazy things on bikes :) Sorry I haven't posted in a while... not too much going on in our world. We are just house training charlie so a lot of our time goes to that. We bought a really cool wide angle lens for my camera today, but it doesn't get here for a week :( I also got a new cool filter... ummm we are thinking about taking scuba diving lessons as soon as we find out when Trae is leaving. We are really excited about that! But other than all that we are just enjoying our time together and our time with Charlie! Summer is fun so get outside and enjoy it :)
